11 September 2026 · Initial receptor-coverage audit
The assessment should cover communities throughout the modelled area using common exposure and evaluation criteria. The existing ten map labels help readers locate places; they are not a complete receptor inventory. Every cell in the regular study grid participates in the wind comparison.
A first cross-check acquired 10 public reserve-boundary features and 352 municipal land-use features intersecting the original grid. Returned feature identifiers match separate ID queries, with no truncated responses. These provide a starting point for finding coverage gaps, alongside current occupied buildings and sensitive public locations.
The following names are reproduced from the District’s reserve layer. Their polygons intersect study-grid cells but contain no 200 m grid centre. This is a geometric finding, without an occupancy or exposure inference.
| Source-layer name | Polygon area within the grid | Grid cells overlapping the polygon | Grid centres within it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Siy̓ích’em (Seaichem) | 4.15 ha | 12 | 0 |
| Yekw’ápsem (Yeakwapsem) | 1.62 ha | 4 | 0 |
| Pn’p’áni (Yeakwapsem) | 0.90 ha | 4 | 0 |
The Ch’iyákmesh (Cheakmus) feature also extends beyond the displayed square. A viewing boundary must not be treated as the end of a community or the limit of a plume. The larger wind-computation domain provides surrounding support; it does not automatically expand the reported exposure area.
| Work | Evidence and acceptance check |
|---|---|
| Complete settlement and residential coverage | Cross-check current municipal and SLRD data, including Britannia Beach, with observed occupied buildings. Review locations outside the initial square where transport or community extent warrants expansion. |
| Confirm Nation community coverage | Verify current names, boundaries and relevant occupied/public-use areas against Squamish Nation or authoritative cadastral sources. Reserve land is not synonymous with residential occupation, and this municipal layer is not an exhaustive Nation community inventory. |
| Add sensitive public locations | Check official school, childcare, health-care and care-facility directories, plus relevant recreation and gathering places. Do not infer activity from a planning designation alone. |
| Define concentration receptors | Use a regular grid plus extra points within relevant small areas and near strong concentration gradients. Record each point’s source, coordinates, ground elevation, vertical datum and output height. Test numerical receptor spacing separately from weather resolution. |
| Apply consistent health comparisons | Use the same pollutant-specific definitions, averaging periods, background method and uncertainty treatment throughout the domain. Report event duration and frequency separately from any long-term benchmark. A concentration comparison is not an individual medical-risk estimate. |
No source setting or weather parameter is selected to increase or decrease the result in a particular community. The expanded-domain wind study reports all its preselected place references, and its full-grid comparisons cover unnamed locations as well.
The District’s service supplies public names/boundaries and planning designations. It does not establish population, occupancy, current building use or exposure. Its default projection to geographic coordinates was retained for this initial audit. Ten land-use features had self-intersections: documented geometry repairs retain polygon areas, with a largest signed area difference of about 0.08 m². All reserve features were valid without repair. These checks are arithmetic and geometry checks, not a land survey. Source responses are preserved unchanged in the research workspace.
Counts and areas are available in the audit record, with every polygon/grid-cell overlap. Overlapping planning categories should not be summed as population or unique occupied area.
