CALMET/CALPUFF remains a candidate for the Woodfibre investigation, but this access check did not establish an executable current modelling chain. Official sources and test archives are advertised without a purchase price; the provider imposes a licence, and current CALPUFF Version 7 installation files require a request. No agreement was accepted, program downloaded or installed, source modified, reference case run, or external message sent. Checked 5 September 2026. Provider, Version 7 access.
The provider EULA states: “The installation and/or use of the programs on this site constitute acceptance of the terms of this agreement.” It prohibits redistribution without written permission, requires modified Fortran code to be submitted to Lakes, and sets citation and guide-reproduction conditions. ISORROPIA has additional noncommercial-use and modification limits. No distinct permissive licence for the older EPA baseline was verified. This pass inspected public access metadata; acceptance of the provider terms remains pending.

Versions come from the download overview, EPA-baseline component page and Version 7 component page. Sizes are actual HTTP Content-Length responses, not downloaded ZIP verification. The machine-readable companion contains each exact archive URL and response metadata. The current Version 7 directory lists no CALPUFF archive. Historical homepage news mentions 7.3.1 while the download overview specifies 7.3.2 beta; a delivered package's version must be checked rather than inferred from news.
The provider advertises a connected demonstration using a hypothetical source and real meteorological/geophysical inputs, with expected outputs and processor README files. The 21 unique listed EPA-system ZIPs, including two older 5.8.4 candidates, total 47,146,668 bytes by headers. These include terrain data (6,526,929 bytes), land-use data (3,163,218), and surface/upper-air processors. This fits the download limit, but exact case completeness, variable-wind coverage, execution time and expected-output compatibility remain unverified because the archives were not opened. A successful older demonstration would establish software reproduction only, not validate Version 7 flare treatment or Howe Sound transport. Official demonstration description and files.
The local compiler is GNU Fortran 14.4.0 on Darwin arm64. Historical provider documentation describes command-line Fortran builds for PC and Unix, including platform-specific time and argument routines. Current macOS support and exact build flags have not been verified. A future isolated build would use work/calpuff-readiness/build/ after examining the selected package's README and compiler recipe. No source adaptation is proposed while its associated submission obligation is unresolved. CALPUFF User Guide, §§4–5.
Version selection matters for this project. B.C.'s July 2026 guideline recommends the latest publicly available system, with older versions permissible when later changes are irrelevant. EPA currently lists CALPUFF as an alternative model; its historical approved-version list does not confer current preferred status or site-specific acceptance. B.C. guideline, §2.3, EPA current status.
Version 7 introduced a dedicated flare source with time-varying effective parameters and a numerical plume-rise option. Its meteorological and emissions requirements still need to be satisfied. CALWRF 2.0.3/190426 is publicly listed and its archive reports 1,815,191 bytes, but it converts WRF netCDF, not ECCC HRDPS GRIB2; this check did not find an established direct HRDPS converter. Flare addendum, pp. 9–18, official processor descriptions.
The next executable step depends on the user's licence decision and lawful access to the chosen source package. Once resolved, preserve its original hashes internally, inspect the supplied compiler recipe and small reference-case manifest, compile unchanged source, and compare the complete model/postprocessor outputs with the supplied reference. Any source modification or provider contact needs a separate scope decision. After reference reproducibility, test a documented variable-wind case and then assess representative Woodfibre meteorology; those are separate scientific checks.
Ten public HTML pages/listings were saved internally with SHA256 provenance. The machine-readable access inventory records their locations, all inspected download URLs, precise sizes, unresolved checks, the local compiler, and the conditional next steps. It contains no provider program or test-data payload.
